Heading towards the Manchet Valley from Val d’Isère, you can park your vehicle at the last parking lot by the chairlift. After crossing the bridge and the old village of Manchet, you’ll take a wide hiking path. Expect 1 hour 30 minutes for the walk for a round trip of 2.5 kilometres and a 270-meter elevation gain. Here, you can enjoy generous, simple, authentic cuisine featuring fresh and local products with a special mention for Laurent’s omelette. After a 2-kilometre loop on foot and an elevation change of about 40 meters around Lake Ouillette, you can take a gourmet break at La Plage de l’Ouillette (Ouillette Beach). When it comes to the menu, you’ll have a wide selection ranging from wood-fired grills and salads to the indulgent “croziflette,” all enjoyed in the midst of the mountains with a view of the lake. From the Prariond Valley to Prariond Refuge

Perched at an elevation of 2324 meters within the La Vanoise National Park, not far from Val d’Isère, Prariond Refuge welcomes you by reservation at 06 08 83 75 30 or directly through their website refuge-prariond.vanoise.com.
To reach the refuge, plan for an hour of hiking and a 300-metre elevation gain. You’ll need to take the trail to the left of the Pont Saint-Charles parking area. You’ll traverse a path overlooking the magnificent Gorges de Malpasset. As you exit the trail, you’ll arrive on the plateau of Prariond where you’ll have the chance to admire many playful marmots. At the far left of the valley, you’ll find the renowned Prariond Refuge. Whether it’s a hearty breakfast, lunch, or a Over a hearty breakfast, at lunchtime or in the evening around a large table, you’ll always have a great time. The host will serve you a vegetable soup accompanied by cheese from the valley, followed by a unique dish made from local produce: a filled galette, omelettes, pasta with sauce, which changes according to your mood, and to finish, a delicious dessert.
